I got into Badwater coming up in July. Known as "the world's toughest foot race", runners travel 135 miles through a landscape that boasts the hottest temperature ever recorded. (If you looked up "Scared to death" in the dictionary, you would see a picture of my terrified face.)
BUT right now, Death Valley is covered in wildflowers. And not just any wildflowers. Currently there is a rare super bloom of wildflowers in Death Valley. A super bloom only happens when there is a perfect mix of temperature and winter rainfall.
I just returned from my first trip to Death Valley to scout out the Badwater course and check out this amazing bloom of wildflowers. Here is a video from the trip showing just how incredible the wildflowers are:
Just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAnd just when you thought Badwater might be a challenge, you meet someone who's walking from Alaska to Argentina!
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog for a few years but apparently never watched any videos until now. This was the first time I've heard your voice! The part about the junk food being delicious about made me cry with laughter. That guy you met was super cool too. Thanks for sharing the awesome wildflower bloom!
ReplyDeleteLove the Japanese ultra hiker, or whatever is the right designation - clearly what he's doing is way beyond "ultra"... Anyway, he picked a lucky day to walk through Death Valley.
ReplyDeleteI love how you paid tribute to your road trip foods, fantastic! Man that view of Death Valley is amazing! Great shots!
ReplyDeleteI was just there Friday the 26th and also met the ultra hiker, what an amazing story! Death valley is amazing as well, I never knew there was so much to see there.
ReplyDeleteCory, Please Please Please Compile More Videos Of Photos. The Sound Track, The Stills, & The Clips Are Simply Brilliant.
ReplyDeleteThank You From Colorado,
Cheers
