- 6 days covering 120 miles
- 20,000 feet elevation gain
- Completely spectacular miles through the mountains of Colorado. Here is a picture from Great Running Races:
This seriously sounds like my definition of heaven. The race is coming up August 13th. One slightly minor detail.......the race is, um, $1,499.
Here is where your rich uncle comes in. Let's say, hypothetically speaking, that you have a rich uncle looking to spend $1,499 for a worthy cause. Then your rich uncle should donate that to a homeless shelter. That is much more worthy.
But let's say, hypothetically speaking, that your rich uncle has already donated to the homeless shelter and he is looking to support something much less worthy than a homeless shelter. Well, here's my email: coryreese1@hotmail.com
You want me to write an article about the race for a magazine? Done! You want pictures? Sure! I'm offering a lifetime supply of my wife's amazing peanut butter chocolate brownies to the first taker.
Two years ago I won an entry into this race (for one day, about 22 miles of running) to be partnered with Dean Karnazes. I wasn't able to go and run it because of my racing schedule, but my husband Josh got to go and he loved EVERY MINUTE of it. He said it is 100x cooler and more fun than you think it is. He would LOVE to do the whole thing but yeah... we are all out of rich uncles. Hope you find a way! You would love it. :)
ReplyDeleteI have a few dream races like that. They are all so expensive. Then I still have to convert the SA Rand into dollars which means x10! So nice to dream...
ReplyDeleteI have a discount code on my blog but it doesn't lower the price tag too much... I would love to run it someday. It is practically in my backyard, but it looks AMAZING.
ReplyDeleteWow - that does sound like your perfect race! Good luck finding a rich uncle!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's an expensive race. Pity I don't have any altruistic uncles for you. All my uncles are of the 'cheap', Scrooge variety.
ReplyDeleteThat race sounds absolutely perfect for you...minus the money. Yikes! That's a lot of dough!
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm neither rich nor related. May your dream to run it come true, though!
ReplyDeleteWe were sponsored to run this last year and it was incredible! You do get your money's worth in how well they take of you - and the FOOD is amazing! GORE-TEX were our sponsors, but sadly they're not involved with the race this year or I would totally hook you up ;) Not sure who is picking it up, but might be worth shooting them an email? :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not even close to a rich uncle, I'm not even close to a rich 4rd cousin once removed... but if you ever come to Colorado, it better be somewhere in my vicinity, like crewing me at Pb, for instance!!! :)
