I saw this video on Ryan's blog a few days ago about a runner named Ben Comen. Ryan said that this video "would move you to tears". Yea, right. I'm a man. I'm pretty sure I won't be moved to tears. Bring it on.
I hate to admit it.....but Ryan was right. Please, do yourself a favor and watch this clip. I'd dare say it's some of the best 8 minutes you'll have all day.
Also, I'm happy to announce that Kara from It's A Dog Lick Baby World is the proud owner of the CDs, Subway card, and some Gu. You ought to visit her blog while you're at it. She's what you would call - very funny.
Well, a tear was definitely shed! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely checking out Kara's blog. You had me at "dog lick baby"
This is now the best day of my life. Sorry wedding day, you've been replaced.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Kara, your giveaway seriously was one of my favorites that I've seen on the blog world. I remember reading about that story about Ben Komen a while back in Sports Illustrated, it is indeed one of the best sports stories I've ever heard. I had also seen that video before on ESPN.
ReplyDeleteWell, ya made me cry! That was pretty awesome! That dude WANTED it BAD!!! Good for him. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI am sharing this video... THANK you for it - I have a cousin in a little worse position right now and I think this is just what he needs to watch for a little inspiration.
ReplyDeleteYou can do anything you put your mind to, huh? :)
Are you racing the half this weekend??? I might be in town for work so I think I am going to!!
I'm not doing the Dogtown Half Marathon this year. I ran it last year and had fun. I hear the course is new and improved so it should be a good time. Good luck!
DeleteCried like a baby. That was such an amazing video. You were right, well worth watching. Thanks Cory.
ReplyDeleteI totally cried. I didn't think I would but dang it that was inspirational! Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteCongrats to Kara!
wow! my nephew was recently diagnosed with cerebral palsy after his body shutdown and his brain was without oxygen for 20 minutes as he was rushed to the hospital as a 2 year old. his progress has been nothing short of miraculous and although he isn't walking yet 18 months after the accident, i can picture him doing this. he comes from a running family. thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThat was beautiful. Wish I had a tissue on me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for spreading this Cory. This really helps put things in perspective. PS, I really wanted those GU's Dang it!!

Thanks, Cory, for posting this. I have reposted it about a dozen times on my FB page as well as friends. There are no excuses, as far as I'm concerned, after watching this. Thanks again for the perspective : )
